Military Housing
In September 2005, the Company was awarded the housing privatization contract at Offutt Air Force Base located in Bellevue, Nebraska. The contract was part of the U.S. Government’s effort to improve services and reduce costs associated with Military housing. An overview of the project follows:
- Total project cost $250 million
- Ownership and management of 2,600 homes
- Demolished 1,874 homes
- Renovated 484 existing homes
- Built 914 new homes
- Partnered with nationally recognized firms Kiewit Construction Company and Holland Basham Architects
- Improved street layout and built new sidewalks
- Developed community-wide walking trails
- Built 61 playgrounds and dog park
- Built new community gathering center
- Developed new basketball courts, soccer fields, volleyball courts and picnic pavillions
- Resident activities and quarterly newsletter
The project at Offutt Air Force Base has been successful on a number of factors including:
- On budget
- Two and a half years ahead of schedule
- Over delivered on project scope
- No down scope renegotiation
- Outstanding third-party and resident satisfaction results
- Recognized as “Best Practices” by the United States Air Force
