Kevin Hensel, Director of Marketing
Kevin is responsible for all of the activities and projects within the Marketing
and Communication department. He is also responsible for the majority of
the training programs for all areas in the company. Kevin possesses a strong
background
in property management and customer service. Kevin joined the company in
June 2002 as the National Training Director and moved into his current position
in
November 2004. Prior to joining the company, Kevin worked at Girls and Boys
town as a Trainer and Consultant where he was responsible for training both
internal and external customers. Kevin received his Master of Arts in Organizational
Leadership from Bellevue University and a Bachelor of Science in Human and
Social Service Administration, also from Bellevue University.
Susan Jindra, Marketing and Communication Project Manager
Susan is responsible for managing all projects that come to the department.
She works closely with clients to outline their needs, develop timelines/marketing
plans and establish budgets. Susan acts as the department editor and writes
much of the content for marketing collateral. She also works closely with
the Director of Marketing on special projects as requested by Senior Management.
Susan joined the company in June 2005. Prior to joining the company she
was a marketing specialist for a health care transaction company where she
wrote and developed all sales and marketing collateral. Susan also held
the position of Marketing Manager at Mutual of Omaha where she was accountable
for all marketing activities for a national 401(k) retirement product. Susan
received her Master’s in Communication from the University of Nebraska
at Omaha and her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Speech from Northwest
Missouri State University.
Trish Owens, Communications and Training Specialist
Trish works closely with property managers to identify upcoming marketing
needs including sales campaigns and marketing collateral. She currently
manages the development of several property newsletters as well as develop
a quarterly newsletter for America First Property Management and America
First Apartment Investors. Trish gathers all company news for publishing
on AFNET and also works directly with vendors to ensure timely, accurate
printing of company material. She also holds the role of trainer and works
closely with clients to ensure all training needs in the organization are
met. Trish joined the company in 1993 and held past positions in Investor
Services. She also worked for Mutual of Omaha in their investment company.
Trish currently holds her Series 6 & 63 Security Licenses.
Kelly Diekmann, Web/Graphic Designer
Kelly is the resident web site designer for the team and currently manages
all web sites for America First Companies. This includes web site graphic
and layout design, navigation organization, coding, search engine optimization
and photo manipulation. Kelly also manages the company intranet system
and acts as a back-up graphic designer. Kelly joined the company as an intern
in June 2005 and came on board full-time in September. She owns her web
design business and has past work experience at Ayres Kahler Advertising
Agency, Binary Net Hosting Company and Nebraska Digital. She graduated
with
her M.B.A. from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and received her
Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Nebraska Wesleyan
University
in Lincoln.
Kelly
Murkins, Graphic Designer
Kelly is the lead graphic designer in the department. She is responsible
for the creation and development of all graphic materials for clients including
brochures, floor plans, newsletters, posters, mailers, fliers, logos and
posters and other projects as needed. Kelly joined the company in April
2004 and previously worked as a Contract Illustrator for King of Kings Lutheran
Church. She also held an Illustrator/Graphic Artist Intern position with
the Henry Doorly Zoo. Kelly received an Associate of Occupational Studies
degree with an emphasis on graphic design, illustration and computer graphics
from The Creative Center Art School located in Omaha.
